Would it be possible to make the stock hood scoops into an air intake?

Like say, if i bought another pair of the hood scoops off of ebay and did the cutting on them and then created the channels to the intake hole on the motor, do you think that would make much difference on my 3.8? Or would i even be able to do that?

Or would i just be better off getting a k&n intake?

Personally, I don't think it would be worth the time, efford, or money to do that. You'd have to cut the holes in the hood yourself, run tubing into the airbox, and you wouldn't see more then 10-15hp gains max, prolly not even that much. If you want ram air, either buy a functional ram air hood and a ram air airbox, or do the free ram air mod. Don't bother with cutting hood scoops out, it's not worth it.
