  • Should I worry at all about hydrolocking with cold air intake?

Did a search but got nothing, and I'm a noob so I just wanted to ask if this is an issue if I get an SLP intake, and what the chances are of destroying my engine if I go through mud puddles frequently... Thanks

anyone here will tell you that you will have no problems unless you decide to drive through a large creek or something ;) Ive driven through several somewhat large puddles and i dont even have the plastic shroud under my intake anymore (you can leave it on if you want.... to keep water out and the filters from falling off). There is no danger unless you drive in substantially deep water.

if your that concerned about it(which you shouldnt be), AEM sells a thing that goes on the intake that prevents it if it does happen to get water in it.

also remember, the more open the throttle is, the more air you are sucking in.

so if you drive into a creek, and give it WOT, well, just dont do that....

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
