Anyone with true duals ever have their car dynoed? Does true duals sound any different or better than a really good cat-back?

I'm getting my care dynoed on the 17th. I like it better than any cat back I've heard

The LS1 guys don't seem to think true duals have any benefit over a 3" cat-back other than the sound preference. But its a fact that air flows better through one big pipe than it does through two smaller pipes, so you be the judge. Most duals also become your lowest part beneath your car so if you're lowered you might wanna consider that.

I'm interested in seeing what Timbo's results are though. Are you gonna have before and after dyno's or just an after?

I know that the Z-28's were rated at 275 HP and in 96 the Z-28's were all rated at 285 HP. The 10 HP increase was because in 1996 using dual catalytic converters become standard. Now the Z-28's have a lot more exhaust flow than us, but I am assuming there would be a slight HP benefit from going true dual, or maybe just 2 cats after the headers and then the Y-pipe, but the HP benefit would probably be very slight. I would still like to know though, it is interesting, especially on a V6.

how did you get duals put under your camaro, how did they run the pipe and what size? i had 3 inch put on mine after deciding that i would be able to go duals. i am really happy with my 3 inch, made the sound much deeper and got rid of alot of the ricey sound.

I don't know, I have the Encyclopedia of American Cars 2002 Edition and that is where it says that 10 extra horse came from.
