My friend seems to think that it is not illegal to cut out my cat on my 1995 3.4 Bird. I don't know what to do. My cat is bad and they said I need a new one but I would just rather straight pipe it, less money in my opinion.
My question: Is it illegal to cut out my catalytic converter and just put a pipe where it was? (I think it's called straight-piping.)
