I have a whisper lid, SLP CAI, and K&N filter. I see people on this board with removal of their MAF screen. Is that a good mod for a daily driver? I have heard that removing the screen can mess up the engine? true or false?

I took mine off for 2 days and put it back on just recently. I felt no difference in power but i did notice a strange sound coming from the throttle body and muffler. I dont think it will mess up the engine but it might lower your gas mileage some.98 White Camaro -
i had the opposite effect.....increased my gas milage....guess it depends on the car...kinda weird to think that though

u could possibly get something stuck in ur maf sensor, burning up the wires and having to buy a new one. I had this happen 2 me a couple weeks after i got it. it was a small piece of lint that got past the filter cuz it wasn't sealed properly. it can give u better mileage, or worse, it all depends.2001 Arctic White Firebird<br />More mods than I\'m allowed to list!Comment
