  • Cleaning the throttle body

The throttle body is at the end of your air intake. Right?

Follow the intake hose back to the motor. Where it ends there should be a metal clamp which you can unscrew w/a flathead screwdriver. The TB connects to this hose and you'll know it when you see it-it has one big round 'butterfly' mechanism w/the throttle linkage attached to the driver's-side. To clean it, you can use one of 2 methods. Buy a TB spray can at a place like Autozone or elsewhere, and follow the instructions on the can. Some you just spray into and around the TB with the engine OFF, others you use w/the engine running. Just make sure whoever is operating the engine if you do this doesn't allow the engine to stall and keeps the rpm's up. After use, allow the engine to run to allow any deposits removed from the cleaning to leave be burnt off.
