• correct gasket? please help

Okay, I bought a pair of used '01 tubular exhaust manifolds. Advanced Auto and NAPA do not have a listing for the exhaust gasket on a 2000+ f-body. They do have a listing for my '96 which is FelPro part # MS 95811. Notice this is the same part # listed in the Tech Database for the 99+. I also went to the dealership to see if they had it in stock. They can't get a gasket for a '96 anymore, BUT they could order the '01 for ~$5. This is the confusing part, I asked him if the '96 gasket and the '01 gasket were the same part, he said NO.

I went ahead and ordered the MS 95811 hopeing it will work. Is the dealership wrong and the gasket is the same, or is the tech database only list the pre 2000 3.8 exhaust manifold gasket?

Another question, do I need a gasket where the y-pipe attaches to the exhaust manifold? part #? Thanks in advance. I'm lost

You can use the same FelPro gasket set for any '95-'02 3.8L.

Don't know about that one, but hopefully you bought the Y-pipe along with the manifolds, right? Because your stock ('96) Y-pipe won't match-up to the tubular '01 exhaust manifolds.

Are you positive that my stock y-pipe won't fit up with the tubular manifolds? I need to know for sure (like "I tried it myself" sure) if it will before I try changing them out. Anybody know for sure???

                How about a '98? Would I need a different Y-pipe?
