  • SES?

I got a solid SES light this weeks which stayed on for a few days but when I went to reset the PCM it did not go away. I figured it was my post cat 02 sensor since I have a 3" Catco. Last night, after driving the car hard for a bit it went away. Are these symptoms indicative of a post cat 02 sensor problem? If I remember correctly, doesn't a solid SES mean emission system problem?

solid SES light could mean many many things... go get it scanned somewhere and theyll give you a code and a possible diagonstic. more then likely its a P0420 ...which needs an O2 sim to fix.

ya, my SES light stays on all hte time. had it reset about 5 times now at autozone. each time it was always the catylitic converter code. it came on right after i got the exhaust put on and then it got reset 5 times. now i just let it stay on till i get an o2 simmulator. oh well, i can stand to see the light if i know what it is and will be fixed soon.

dont count on that working.. it dident for me.. and most others w/2k and up cars.. i have yet to see a 2000 or newer car that that dident get the high voltage error upon installing a sim..

I just fixed mine with an O2 sim. Here in MD if you are showing a SES light they won't test you at the emissions station. New regulations

huh? I live in md.. i have never been with an ses light on.. what do you meen in that quote??? just curious/confused? Last time i went they just hooked up via the obdii port and checked for codes.. and let me go..

The way i see it w/ auto tap i can clear the code and they will stay off for a little while.. long enough to get it in and out of emmisions anyway..

Exactly, if you were showing a light they won't even hook up to your OBDII port.

A buddy of mine had that problem and they sent him to have it fixed before they would test him. Even if they do hook up to your port and read that code you will most likly fail do to the nature of that code.

And yes, with autotap you will probably be able to clear it long enough to pass through the station. Mine got to the point where it would only last about 5 minutes before the computer showed the code after I cleared it with autotap, so I figured it was time to get the O2 Sim.
