There isnt much difference, metal just looks better when its polished. I had both, but now I have metal.

Well in theory I would think aluminum will dissapate more heat then PVC would. If you make a whole intake out of PVC it will look cheap too.

no its just the part where the silencer goes. the metal will not dissipate enough heat to make a difference and it really does not look cheap with just a small bit of white in your intake. if you want to waste your time and spend more money getting an aluminum connector be my guest but you really wont get anything extra out of it except some looks.

Go to home depo and ask for a fernco. It's a rubber tube with metal bands at both ends. You attatch one side to the throttle body and the other to the lid. It works on LS1s I know for a fact cause I used to have one. I don't know if anyone has tried it on the V6 but it wouldn't hurt to go and take a look at the different types of ferncos they have and see if you can make it fit. It looks factory when you put it on too so it doesnt look like you afro-engineered anything.

                dude I figured it out:
go to home depot or other hardware store and buy 4 inch dryer duct(5 feet or so)
                get two 4" clamps
                one cone filter
and something to attach the filter to the aluminum ducting
will tell of results tonight or tomorrow.
the guy with the Firechicken did it, Im just copying him.

                  results of home depot intake:

alot more responsive(6+hp) need to put filter all the way down by the fender but did very well for $37.43. didnt have a big enough road to go more than 50 but will do tonight. looks getto but works great
