  • SLP CAI installed today...........my god

Ive had borla on for a while, had my MSD DIS-4 on for a few weeks, and ive done several other mods to up the power, but the intake has always been holding me back.

    Not any more.

Installed the SLP CAI today, and wow, what a difference. It really opened up the car, and it runs great now. Car pulls MUCH harder, mainly because i think the intake complimented the other mods i have. Sound is cool too. Sucking noise at idle when its cold, and theres a constant sucking noise when you drive under heavier throttle, and it sorta makes a weird "blow off sucking noise" when you let off the throttle.

Out of 10 stars, i give this mod a 10. Definately worth it. Filters werent THAT hard to get on, i just had to remove the underside panals of the car. Install took about an hour total.
NOTE: Hardest part of the install was the fact that i had to unbolt and move the ABS stuff a little bit to get the intake to clear some kind of fitting for it.

How does this compare to its competitors like the K&N kit? Where is the cheapest place to buy the SLP or the other competitive kits?

Intake (slp cai, whisper lid, K&N) was the very first mod I did to my car so I didn't have any supporting mods for. So I didn't really get a WOW feeling from it. However, I did notice a SOTP increase in acceleration at 45 mph+. The intake really supports most other mods so since you already had supporting mods you probably noticed a bigger difference.

The intake is defintely money well spent.

the funny thing is, i havent gone highway speeds with it yet.

Im goin to race tonight in philly, so ill see what its like at higher speeds. Lookin forward to it.

Each time ive gotten in my car now, i love it. Def a lot faster. Damn that stock intake.

Oh, and i have to rethink the hardest part about installing it. It was definately gettin the IAC sensor out of the stock box. That was a serious PITA for me.
