  • high flow cat rattling

    yep, and its only been on for about 3 months. got it from summit for about $50 same time i got my edelbrock cat back. now its rattling at about 2000 rpm - 3500 rpm. what other 3" catylitic converters would you recommend? mines deffinately comin off as soon as i get my headers.

    mine rattles too, only at certain rpms though

      I bet you it's the heat shield. Mine came loose, but got it re-welded. Nomore rattles. :cool:

        Take the heat shields off. They are freakn tack welded on there.You can easly pry them off with a screw driver. I did. No rattleing. :D

          yeah pop off the heat shield. my started to rattle after like a month so i just pulled it off.

            Doesn't the cat need HEAT to properly work? Otherwise why would the heat shield be there?

              the heat shield is there to block off the radiating head from going to the underbody of the car.. make'n the inside of the car hot...


              thats the purpose for the heat shield
