ive seen the exhaust poll, but I specifically wanna know what kind of catalytic converter you have in your f-body? i just ordered the 3 inch loudmouth system from SLP, and will need to buy a cat for the system to upgrade the stocker. would you reccomend the cat you currently have? what hi-flow cat would you consider the best?

I currently run a Magnaflow (carsound converter), and like the performance and sound of it. You can find 'em on ebay, part # 940009, 3" in/out, for about $50-$75.

^^ What he said. Mine got blown in less than 1000 miles though. Think the headers were too much for it, or maybe I was too hard on it...

The replies seem to have a few problems with Magnaflow cats (blown after 1000 miles and SES light being tripped). Is that usual for after market cats (I am concerned about tripping the SES light)? I was considering that or the gatco cat. Anyone have negative experiences with that one as well?

I haven't had a single ses light after replacing my stocker to the magnaflow...BUT...there are a few people here that did get the ses light. They just replaced the O2 sensor with an O2-sim, and the light went away.

i unfortunately have a catco. it was cheep and i got a 5 year warranty to i couldnt convince my self to spend the extra cash on a better one. my ses light comes on from time to time and then mysteriously dissapears. its ok but i would recomend others.

SES light is from the P0420 code. O2 sim would fix it right away.

I have had my catco for like 2 years. The only problem I've had with it was a loose heat shield. Took the heat shield off and it's as good as new.

i got a magnaflow, my heat shield was instantly screwed up with it and it rattles, so i would reccomend riping that off before installation, ive yet to get mine fixed....and really dont know what to do about it :( , other then that it works fine, deff made my exhaust louder i think

question: i have a 2001, which of these cats set-up is for my car? i need a 3 inch in/out since im upgrading to the 3 inch SLP loudmouth system. look here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33636 someone earlier in this thread said it was part # 94009 ...which is this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33629

can anyone confirm this before i purchase? just want to make sure im getting the exact one ill need for the new loudmouth system. thanks in advance.
