I'm thinking Fast Toys Ram Air, but that's also the most expensive. Anyone else?

I would go with the K&N FIPK if I didn't have a flat K&N filter and Whisperlid before they finnally came out with it. If I had a firebird then I would want the Vigilante possibly.
Unless you want go to with a supercharger then I would have to say that intake would blow away all others except a custom turbo. :D1997 Nassau Blue Vette
1989 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 (lifted with 31\" tires)
2000 V6 Camaro, loud, cammed 210rwhp *SOLD*

...98+ cars use a lid, and a whisper lid and fast toys ram air complement each other very nicely
and WTF vigilante thing are you talking about?!?

I have the rksport ram air.. which is the same thing. It's added power noticable, and it even makes the car sound better. Lid and k&n filter are a must as well. Those are all simple mods that take no time to do. you get a fater, more fuel efficient, and better sounding car!

Alright, time for a little math lesson and maybe some people being shown a new item. Oh yeah, Hawgs, I know what 98 cars use, check my sig. First off, everybody get out your Jegs May/Jun 02 edition and turn to page 196-L. Look at the upper left about in the middle of the page for part number 599-57-3022-1. Everybody see it? If you don't have a Jegs click on this http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...18&prmenbr=361 or go here and scroll a little ways down http://www.thunderracing.com/index.c...tegoryid=1023.
Everybody see it now? It's called a Fuel Injection Performance Kit from K&N. It replaces the entire lid.
Alright, my fault on the vigilante thing, wrong name, sorry. It was suppose to be Volant which I hope is old news on this message board. Click on this http://www.tbyrne.com/ls1catalog.html and then click on induction and scroll down a ways and you'll see what I'm talking about. There's the K&N FIPK too under it.
Now for the math. The K&N has been dynoed to give a LS1 22rwhp(possibly flywheel, I forget), close to the 26hp they claim if not exact. The Volant with a very simular if not better design only claims 12-14hp over stock. Whisper lid will claim up to 17hp increase over stock on an LS1 and on a V6 claims 11hp over complete stock, not modified stock like we all took off the silencer and did the FRA. FTRA claims 15-20hp under 100mph, .2 off your quarter and 1.5-2mph faster which I'm pretty sure is on a V8. They now even claim 15% more air with the new improved lower ram air plate which all they did is put 2" sides on it. On the LS1 forum they said that the K&N FIPK is comperable to the FTRA and the Lid.
K&N panel filter: $52.99
Holley Powershot: $44.99
FTRA new: $174.95
Whisper lid new: $139.99
total: $359.93-367.93 plus shipping for 3 items
Induction combo with Whisper lid and ram air: $259.99 plus shipping and price of filter
K&N FIPK: $319.95 plus shipping for 1 item
Volant: $274.99 plus shipping for 1 item
FTRA used: $100-130
Whisper lid used: $85-100
Anouther great thing about the Volant and the K&N FIPK is that it used a cone filter which K&N is known for. Those filters are the ones that will alone give inprovements over pannel type filters. You don't get bugs, sticks and sand all in your air box and there's not just a strip of black on your air filter. There's never a chance of sucking up water with the K&N either. So if I had it to do over again, that's what I would have gone with if I was going to buy everything new.1997 Nassau Blue Vette
1989 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 (lifted with 31\" tires)
2000 V6 Camaro, loud, cammed 210rwhp *SOLD*
