Why didnt my Flowmaster cat back come with an s pipe? I thought the whole idea was that it was CAT-back. Any ideas about keeping the stock one or ditching it for a cutup U pipe?

No, thats the over the axle pipe. Since it doesnt come with one, should I get a new one, or will it not hurt the sound? Also, what size is the stock one? because I bought a 3" cat. I put my flowmaster on w/ stock cat and s-pipe.... sounded fine. I think I remember someone saying that the stock cat is 3" but im not sure since the end of the S-pipe is either 2 1/2" or 2 1/4"\'01 Mineral Grey SVT Cobra<br />-former F-body ownerComment

The stock Y-pipe collector is 3" but the cat is 2.25".2000 Firebird. Whisper Lid, True duals, TSP mail order tune, Built Tranny , TCI 2800 stall verter, B&M tranny cooler, Eaton LSD, 3.42 gears. I got mine put straight on stock with no s-pipe, sounded fine. But i went ahead and got headers, and now it sounds GREAT!Comment
