  • Stock airbox removal

I'm going to be installing my SLP CAI very soon and I need to remove the stock air intake system. I already took out part of the stock airbox, but there's another piece that is jammed behind the headlights. It looks like it's gonna be a PITA to get it out. Is there any easy way to do it? Thanks.

I just yanked mine out, but It doesn't hurt or help anything to leave it in there.

Well I put the CAI in there today. I ended up just leaving the one piece of the stock air assembly in there. It looks like you can go through from under the car and get it out that way, but that's not really easy. I'd just leave it in. I love the new intake though. It's really loud when I cold start the car. When it warms up and the RPM's get down to like 800 I can't hear it much anymore. It gives a nice little gain in performance and better sound even for the stock exhaust. I'll be putting on the Edelbrock catback soon and that should be even better.
