• Computer enhancement for a 97 3.8L

I looked at Jet Chips for a upgrade for my Camaro. They said they don't make one for that year. Who does? What can I get for this model?

Thanks

No one makes a chip. Us 97'ers are stuck. Magnus was working on custom programming at one point, but I haven't heard anything about it lately...

The most that us 96-97s can do is a maft+

OK since I'm new here, I have to ask... What is MAFT+?
Is there something about our years that make it different? Or is there not enough demand?

Thanks,

I agree, owning a 96-97 3.8 sucks! I want computer mods for mine too, but we're SOL. I second the question "what is MAFT+?" Is it expensive? Will it throw a code?

Personal problems aside (with him and I), Magnus IS working on the programming. It takes longer than you think.

I believe Hypertech programmers are out for some model year cars as well.

Few things here.

Yes I am working on it. Did a little yesterday. Set all day today aside for it as well as Monday.

It is not easy. Contrary to what I'm reading on other boards.

I will be posting quite a lot of information VERY soon.. hopefully next week.

Also, I have been recieving a LOT of e-mails regarding a link on DIY-EFI. To clear up the confusion, an EEPROM reader/writer with a UV eraser will not work with our chips. We have Flash memory chips, not EEPROM's.

If you want the facts, stick with firebirdv6.com. ;) If you want a lot of rhumor and hear say, well you know where to go. ;)

Hey Magnus,
When you finally get the programming down for the 96-97 3.8, pleeeze post you ad clearly enough for me to not miss out on it! I've been looking for a computer mod for quite some time now, and I'm glad that someone is finally doing it for our cars. I'm sure we ALL thank you for doing this!
