• Cat Questions (I HAVE searched, as always)

I read this: "I saw a flow test in like car craft or some magazine and Random Tech was first and then carsound."

Please vote and tell me your experience!

Nathan said in my other topic that catco makes cheap cats, I've read good thinks about carsound, and my former quote seems to support random tech, but I don't want it to crap out too soon.

PLEASE tell me your experiences and vote!...not that I know how to do a poll on here but woo! Just vote in your post.

Random tech > carsound > catco

Those also go in order of price. If you want an actual highflow cat be prepared to pay over $150. If you don't pay this much you ARE NOT BUYING A HIGHFLOW CAT you are getting a universal replacement. Just because some idiot tries to tell you his $50 cat is high flow doesn't mean it is.

If you want a 3" random tech look in the LS1 section of vender. If you want a 3" carsound just find someone thats a magnaflow/carsound dealer and have them order you one. If you want a 3" catco...

lol, nope.. deeeefinately not going with the catco. Also... another question. Do specific cats have to go with specific engines? I figured that it ought to be the same size of the pipe and that it's not uber important, but all of the random tech cats say they are made for 5.7 or 5.0 engines.

Here's there page: http://www.randomtechnology.com/chevrolet.html

1) There are two 3 inchers... an "Engine 8" and an "Engine F" What do these engine tags mean?
2) All of the years listed on their site are 95 or older... will they work for a 97 fine?
3) Will I still be street legal with these?

1.) E-mail random tech and ask. Not sure why they wouldn't work for our cars tho.
2.) They will work.
3.) Should be perfectly fine depending on your emissions testing/codes.

I have a carsound 3". I would have gotten the random tech except I couldn't find a 3" one untill like last month.
