  • time for a new system... i've had my fun

yes, its true, i have finally become somewhat of an OLD MAN when it comes to exhaust (and im only 17, what a shame)

i really love the compliments i get on my cars exhaust, upon startup and parking lot strolls, but seriously, the rice uptop is gettting to me, and its not just the loud mouth that this is a problem with... it seems to be a lot of systems, i recently heard a rumbler that sounded so horrible, i really felt bad for the guy, it sounded like a 300psi fart blowing out some skinny guys ***...

im sick of the drone inside the car (so is my GF and my buddys lol) not to mention the people trying to sleep around my friends homes and my GFs brother LOLOLOL... ok enough ...

my main concern right now it getting a high performance system that is quiet/ has a less aggressive tone, i like to hear myself go WOT so it cant be silent... and i dont even think i can get high performance silent anyways... but i want to be able to hear my air intake and my engine you know? i miss hearing the engine... all i can hear is this "fake" blargalargarg coming from out back, its getting to me... i will be considering some new systems or modifications to my old... i guess its just not my thing, i love being able to set off alarms, but im going to have to go back to something dedicated to high performance and not high volume...such as my loudmouth..

i have a sound clip of a flowmaster equipped car that sounds great, the idle sounds kinda "watery?" i know weird but thats what comes to mind, but the WOT sound is great, very strong and healthy but not all raspy, but it does seem to lack that low end growl, but thats alright, i dont mind that missing as long as the car can rev up to like 5000 with NO rasp...

I know I'm going to get the Magnaflow LT1 catback and buy a dynomax bullet muffler to stick in the I-pipe.

I loved my flowmaster on my 3.4, but I want to give magnaflow a shot...if I think it sounds like crap, I'll go back to flowmaster.

My V8 take off is ricey throughout all RPM's basically, only thing it sounds good at is under 10mph and idle; I'm sick of it. It is kinda quiet though.

Try putting in a Borla XL-1 muffler in there on your LoudMouth... This is called the "BorlaMouth" exhaust. I've heard some clips of it and it sounds very nice and it tones it down a lot. It also adds in the tone of a Borla, which is probably one of the nicest exhausts for our cars.

if you dont want the drone and loudness all the time but the choice of setting alarms off, get a V8 takeoff so you can have the duals and get a cutout for that instant loud and power.

wouldnt that be badass to have your nitrous switch hooked up to a relay that powered your cutout? so whenever your at wot, it goes lol... that would becool, ill checkout that borla... sounds like a good idea... i know that ill miss my loudmouth if i junkit for a flowmaster.. so i kinda like the idea bullets inplace of the resonator lol

I can stand my loudmouth because I can keep it deep until I'm going over 90mph. Shame it's harder for you guys since you have auto trannies.

yeah, the magnaflow is perfert for high performance but low noise.

My magnaflow is loud and ricey (above 3k anyways--- I HATE IT) but I blame it on my high flow catco cat. I had my cat replaced on my old car and it got really loud so i guess i gotta wait til it gets clogged a little or something to quiet down. Too bad i dont drive a lot.

Anyways i am looking for something quieter than the Magnaflow... maybe a new kind of rear section with a 3 inch in.

I've had nothing but compliments on my Flowmaster 80, Flow gets a lot of bad rap but IMHO it sounds just as good as or better than anything else on a V6 (at least mine does.)
