  • Anyone have experience w/ JC Whitney cutout?

I'm planning on ordering a cutout later today or tomorrow. The JC Whitney one is the cheapest, plus it's the only one I've seen that is made for 2.25" pipe. Not only that, but the way it's designed, with the flipping thing looks kinda cool, so you don't hafta unscrew the wingnuts and all like a normal cutout, plus it comes with a cable to supposedly be able to remotely open/close it.

I'm wondering if anyone has this cutout, or knows anyone with it. Since it's so cheap, only $22, and uses a different design then normal ones, I'm wondering if it will have any problems with leaking, etc.? Anyone know? Jegs also sells a similar cutout, if anyone has that one.

Wrong, Its 2.25 inch. I just bought mine. I am waiting for it to be shipped. Should be here in the next couple of days. And I called to make sure it was 2.25. Because if it were 2 inch I wouldnt buy it either.

I used to have that cutout and it's not too bad. My only complaint is that the butterfly valve rattles when closed.

Well, too late anyways, I ordered a FlowTech cutout earlier today... I guess I just heard too many things about the JC Whitney one on Camaroz28.com's forums. Oh well, it was only an extra $10, and if I ever really want remote opening I can get the electronic opener.

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
