• They said they can't

I called up a local muffler shop a-1 mufflers and asked them how much it would be to install a 3in cat-back and they said biggest they can do is 2.5in. I called another and they said I would need a new y-pipe.

They can adapt your 3" I-pipe to your Y pipe. There are little things called reducers. They are trying to get more money from you cause you didn't buy your system from them.

You can get a mandrel-bent one from dynomax. Get a couple of 90 degree bends from JCWhitney if you want to upgrade the S-pipe.

well a different y-pipe is a good deal but you did not need a different ypipe to install a cat back system.

BUt you probably have a better setup anyways now

How much was the ypipe and what size pipe?
