  • I wanna buy a CAI, but i wanna know the dangers !!

I am looking to buy a CAI for my 95 Camaro...3.4l....but before i do that i have heard a couple of things.....my buddy has a little ricer and a CAI.....he said if you run through a puddle of water it will lock the engine ?? Is this true ?? Someone let me know a lil more about it ! Thanks !

not for our cars. the CAI filter would be located in the enclosure in front of the driver-side wheel-well, right below where the stock airfilter box is.

Ditto as above....in reality, the only danger is to the rice out there on the road, there going to be Fried

Had my SLP cold air setup for almost two years now, driven through blinding near-hurricane force rainstorms (common in Florida), driven on streets flooded nearly a foot deep, never had a problem with water.
In fact, the only problem I know of is that you have to clean your air filter more often.

Actually yes you do have the danger of sucking up water and destroying your engine IFFFFF you are an idiot and drive through a foot or more of water in a flood.

hey, this is my first post so I'll see if it works.

I was wondering what part number for SLP CAI would fit on the 3.4L. SLP's rep told me that they don't make one to fit a 3.4L firebird. I would consider buying a used one if somebody has one that they would sell for a good price.

Dont worry too much w/ the whole sucking up water thing.

I have had my filter in for a while already...probably 4 months or so, i also took off the splash guard and i still have yet to suck up water. My engine's runnin smoothly and i've driven threw my share of pubbles and flooded streets.

There was actually an F-body memeber that for whatever reason drove through a low water crossing and guess what.. He had to have a new engine.

So very simple to not have the problem its called dont be stupid.
