• Want New exhaust.....Z28 stock muffler?

On my 95 3.4 camaro I have a Flo Pro muffler and dual 3 1\2 inch tips. I had it for a year and lots of people at stoplights and parking lots ask me if I have a V8 :D . But after a year the exhaust noise is down right irritating. It's too loud at highway speeds and wakes up the nieghbors  . I want to know if anyone put a stock Z28 muffler and square tips on thier 3.4. I want a very low rumble thats only loud on full throttle acceleration. While cruising, I want whisper quiet. Has anyone put a Z28 exhaust on their car?

Either go with a Z28/SS takeoff muffler (or cat-back), or go w/an aftermarket exhaust such as Dynomax. They're not very loud, but sound better than stock, and don't sound ricey at higher rpm's like many exhausts for V6's do.

i have a z28 catback setup on my 97 3.8

It sounds great not annoying at all and none of that hum on the highways or rice sound.

Change your muffler to a spintech or dynomax or use a z28 muffler

actually i have a 95 3.4 with a z28 replacement muffler and it is great sounding it gives it a really deep rumble even at very high rpm and then u can get a cool backfire noise HEHE!

i have a 2001 3.8 and
im thinking about getting a z28 take off exhaust. and getting a cut out....
i was wondering if u can replace a 3.8 exhaust w/the complete z28 system from the catback? or is it totally different? i was also wondering if there was any increase in performance w/ the z28 muffler system what size are the pipes? would it be an optimal or even possible move?
thanx guys

i'm almost sure you can replace it; just have to get a custom s-pipe made and cut one of the little flanges off the back of your cat. works perfectly.

i also used to have a trans am exhaust on my car and it sounded great throughout the rpm range; that was just with 2.25 going into the 2.75 muffler. sometimes i wish i still had it, but my two-on-the-left sounds pretty beast and flows a lot better.

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
