    Fitting the filters on the bottom under the splash guard i would say was the hardest part. Everything else is a breeze just remove all stock Air intake pieces and put in the new one...and walla your done.

          Jam,
          If your talking about the SLP-21033(for the 99- 02) Then yes, there is some cutting of plastic. I installed mine in about 45 minutes. Here is a link to SLP's instructions for the kit. You need adobe to open the pdf file. http://www.slponline.com/inst/21033.pdf

            The install took me and my cousin about an hour to do...figure in 20 minutes because we let a screwdriver fall in and it was sitting in the pass. side splash guard and had to get it out. [img]smile.gif[/img]

            The install was pretty easy...easier if you have an extra person, especially to pull the radiator forward. As stated, fitting the filters from underneath is a pain.

            I felt a SOTP gain after a few days when I first took it on the freeway, but that feeling has gone away since I got used to it. I honestly couldn't tell you any real HP or 1/4 gains though...

              is there going to be a difference between having a slp cai on 3" mandrel bent cat-back than there would be on stock pipes? i've just heard that having a better flowing exhaust sys really helps the cai work better and get more hp out...true?

                  ok i have a question about the slp cai... can i hook it up if i already have the intake lid? or is it a full replacement on the stock intake? because i obviously wont but iy if it will make my lid obsolete.

                    If you use the SLP-21033 CAI (for the 99-02),either the stock lid or a whisper type intake lid can be used. The lid I used is the Tbyrne and I didn't have any alignment or install issues using the SLP CAI.
