  • $695 of exhaust work... sound like a reasonable estimate?

    Manifold remove/replace
    Custom Y-pipe
"Hang the cat" - I hope he meant install it
and pipework (with my pipes) from the cat to the muffler

    grand total: "about $695"

But... the custom Y-pipe is $185. If I buy one from a 2000+ car, that'll knock a good chunk off.

so I'm looking at probably over $500 of work... how does that sound?

    that's not *too* bad.
that is quite a bit of labor, materials and welding.
you might see if you can find yourself a 2000+ pipe.
i can look around locally...maybe if you are able to spend a few days out of town while on break, dave or tracey (local f body gods) might be able to cut you a better price...shall i ask or no?

i paid just about 500$ for my catback + hi flow cat from the shop + installation of it all. so that sounds just about right...

That's cool, Drew, I'll grab ya on AIM to talk about that. ;)

I have all the parts that they should need, assuming they can reuse my O2 sensors.

Sound like a lot of cost involved with labor, I wouldn't charge that much... You can probably find a used take-off Y and I-pipe from a Z28 or T/A at midas or something... if not free it should be cheap...

Y-pipe from Lt1/Ls1 won't fit. At least, that's what I've been told... I looked into it, 2000+ y-pipes are hard to come by.

That's almost all labor cost, too... I have all the major parts.

if it's all labor, you're getting hosed.
