  • Free Ram Air Mod

K, im planning to do this as soon as my whisper lid comes in. I read in another thread, but this went unanswered, that if I do this, I should seal the front of the air box...and also that there's no point in raising the air box...Is all of this correct?

I have the same question. Some posts say to seal the airbox and some say to raise it.Which way is the best with the free ram air?
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: \"WOW!!!!, what a ride!\"

The ws6 trans am's/firehawks have the same opening for air that we do and only add a ram air hood to get 15 more hp. If you were to raise the air box on one of them, you may see a few more ponies let out. I just did the raised air box mod and all I can feel is a little better throttle response, then again, my stock firebird hood doesn't have very big air inlet openings. I say do the mod after you have a ram air hood/ultra z hood and see how you like it then.
