  • CAI makes my car not idle

I installed my SLP Cold Air Induction (which took about 1 hr) about half way during the instalation i disconnected the positive battery terminal for a half an hour. Then i instaled it and road it under pretty hard throttle for about half an hour. Now the problem is it won't hardly idle and about dies on me when i pull in the clutch to stop or shift gears. I need your help quick because tomarow (Monday) school starts and i'd like to show off my car.The problem seems to start when my car gets hott.

I have a 94 3.4L. I'm not for sure but i dont think i had any wires going to the airbox. I don't know what it could be. It ran fine before the cold air induction. What else could it be?

You probaly have an air leak somewhere in your intake. when i installed my rk sport ram air system it would idle ok when i got on the gas then let off it would kill the motor. opened the hood and it turned out that while i was installing the ram air i pulled the air intake hose off the throttle body just alittle bit. it was enough to cause big problems. i just put it back on and tightend it down and it drove perfect.

Every time i disconnect my battery for 1/2 hour or longer the car dies a lot for about 10 miles, then its fine.
