No...

        Listen....

        1. The bolt pattern is different first of all. Your tb will not mate up to the straight intake.

        2. You will lose the iac. This is a little electric motor/solenoid that the pcm controls, to control the idle speed. When you lose the iac, the car won't idle, it will die. That's if it even starts at all. Your angled intake has an iac built into it. You ditch the intake, you lose the iac. The straight intake has no iac, because it wasn't needed with an electric throttle setup.

just a thought, but are there any hood clearance issues with straight TB on a 93-97 car?

That's true. The '98 is not electric. It is exactly the same as the '97.

I knew what you were getting at... My comments were about straight intakes and matching tb's, which would all be '99 and up.

The '98 won't help you any, because it's the same thing you already have.

A '99 tb might, if you convert the pcm and harness to interface to it.

Or make an iac type tb fit it (for instance the truck tb) and keep your pcm, harness, and cable.

                  Nope....

I have a '98 I bought new, and it's definitely not straight. It's the same as yours.

This is my third post telling you that they aren't straight. 99+ are the only intakes that are straight.

I'm going to close this thread, b/c its past retarded.

Its not as simple as just swapping out the upper intake. This has been relayed by 4-5 post in this thread.

PLEASE USE THE SEARCH TOOL and the tech database.
