I know there is a heat shield above the cat and below the gas tank. My question is do you guys have a small one on top of you i pipe about half way back? I have some sort of shield there and it is rattling like crazy. So, Im just wondering why it may be there.

I had this exact same problem. Went to the repair shop about four times with it, as they said they, "Fixed" it everytime.

I finally made them show me what the hell it was doing and watched them fix it properly this time and I havent had any problems since.

It doesnt seem like they attached them very well. I was thinking about getting a new cat back soon, so maybe I can get away with just cutting it off.

      Thanks for the response Blazing.

I.m dealing with a heat shield problem as we speak. I can't seem to locate the stupid rattle and its really testing my patience. I'm gettin' ready to get a couple of jack stands and take matters into my own hands...if you know what I mean. Blessings and hope you kill the rattle and restore the peace!

i ripped off that heat shield (the one on the i-pipe) about 40k miles ago. you dont need it unless you like buzzing and rattling.
