So on the stock TB for my 2000 3.8L, there's a part on the driver's side, it's black plastic, and riveted in, it's got a rounded slot on the bottom. I'm assuming that's the throttle body position?

Also, where do I adjust the idle speed? Pretty sure it shouldn't idle at over 1100...

that is the motor for the drive by wire electric throttle.

the idle speed is computer controlled not adjustable

that is the drive by wire motor, and your idle is probably normal, the gauge is most likely wrong.

i dont think there is a 4th gen f body out there with accurate gauges.

im assuming yours is a 5 speed?

Yes, it is a 5-speed. But what does all that do? I mean I'm getting an aftermarket throttle body soon, and I'm just looking into the details of install.

I'm not sure yet. Just looking around. I trying to bump it up from the 65mm to at least 75, hopefully 80.

thats not a good idea. in fact its a waste of money. ls1 cars upgrade to a size that big, ours is plenty big. plus i dont even think they make an aftermarket throttle body for our cars.

X2 65mm has gone in the 11's , ZZP has Northstar TB's but for FWD, so it would be useless to buy one. Theres a guy named Scott forget the sceeen named (sorry Scott) on here who adapater a LS1 TB for his turbo 3.8 but I think it was for different purposes, plus he has some crazy modding skills when it comes to cars. His turboed 3rd Gen. has a GN motor and runs like 10's.

yeah, the manuals idle a bit higher than the autos, and im sure your gauge is off, so i would say you are fine, it probably idles around 800 or so

My gauges are pretty close but then again when I had my white face gauge in and the plastic cover off I used a scanner to get the needles right becuase I took them off and had to use the scanner to put them in the correct postion. But I still refer to my Aeroforce scanner when I what to make sure I'm running good.
