ive got the '98 3.8 w/ the stupid angled intake-is there intake manifold that will swap out with this one? ...like one from a '99-'02? (not sure if the 3.8 went to a "by wire" set up like the ls1 did) i ask because 1.it's just plain ugly & 2.i'm trying to firure out a way to hook up a cold air type set up & it's turning the wrong way-turning toward all the clutter & away from where i would actually have room to fab something up-not sure i'll go this route, just considering my options-thanks

no, not a direct swap nor worth it going to a 99-02 intake.
Just run a CAI like the 95-97 cars do over to the dr. fender. Not sure what clutter you are talking about, it is pretty wide open and a straight shot with the silencer out -

yeah I have a 98 and I can a cold air intake with a cone before I got my slp intake. It fit fine and wasnt that bad. It fits fine.Comment

ok, thanks, just trying to figure out my options, i guess i need to go pop the hood & stare at it some more-lol! was just looking & trying to figure out how i could improve the air intake since the whisper style lids are unobtainable, do any of yall have any pics that might help me wrap my brain around some options? this is my first "new" car build-ive been spoiled for the last 20yrs by just throwing on an ol' chrome 14x3 round air cleaner with a k&n on a fat carb & calling it done-lol! -thanks againComment
