Here is the problem, my car is an automatic. So when I start driving my car goes right, but it takes a quite a while to shift between 2nd and 3rd. When I want to turn left or right and hit the I have to obviously hit the gas to resume speed. When I try to resume speed and give it some gas it goes slow. I then have to accelerate hard to resume speed. What could be the problem? My mother said I might have to change the tranmission fluid. What do you guys think??

    EDITED^^^^

I think your tranny just isnt downshifting like it is supposed to. Try manualy shifting it down when you try to resume speeds and see what happens. You might have some sincrows* that are bad. I would probably have my tranny fluid changed, but first I would check to see if there is any in it. Also smell the fluid and if it smells burnt you might need a new tranny. Do you have a Service Engine Soon light that comes on. (SES Light).

I still don't understand it? You edited it....try translating it.

When was the last time you had a tune up? ie. Plugs, wires, Pvc valve, fuel filter, air filter. oil.

A clogged cat can cause hesitation and make it seep like the trans is messing up. Check your cat.

Also, how is your coolant. If your coolant has gone bad, and is that nasty brown mud, your waterpump is working to hard and robbing a few ponies.

        Check for exhuast leaks too.

He doesn't have syncrows its a automatic. You said your tranny fluid is brown and smells bad, thats a sign of your clutch packs burning up. I wouldn't flush/change the filter though, less particles in the fluid so you get less friction and slips happen more.

If you eventually get it rebuilt, make sure you take it to someone that knows what there doing, or the problem can come back to haunt ya.

Could be a bad coil pack or plug wire, but sounds likely that the tranny's cooked !!
