  • What do I need to run 14s?

I'd like to run in the 14s, with no forced induction (that will come later when i have money). What would I need to do that, including free mods?

Maybe tell us something about your car... what mods now, auto or manual, gears blah blah blah

It took a lid and a cat back and I run 14.70s

it's completely stock, with auto trans. 3.08 gears (i know that upgrading to 3.42 is a good idea). I plan on doing the free ram air mod soon. The only reason i'm asking is because i don't have too much cash to blow on the car, and i need relatively inexpensive ways to gain power.

I don't think we can tell you exactly what you need until you get some times. Some people with a lot of mods are running low-mid 15's, while Hawgs with I/E is at 14.7 and people like Teufel Hunden (sp) ran a 15.1 stock.

Depends on your car, I'm assuming you will run high 15's at best (with your 3.08 gearing) and you will need to upgrade to LSD and 3.42 if you want to even have a shot at 14's. That will probably be the biggest difference you see if you do not go FI, cam/heads, or a torque converter.

Get some 3.42's and LSD, intake and exhaust. Then run a time. Then we can tell you.

Relatively inexpensive and power don't go too great together. It all depends on what your budget is and what you consider inexpensive.

I have a 98 stock firebird with 3.08 open gears. I run 15.68 to 15.8 all the time. I dont have a chance of reaching 14's until I get a 3.42 rear gear and upgrade my exhaust.
