No, an impact. Not an air hammer.

I would get it aligned either way, or keep a very close eye on your tires... my Camaro didn't pull at all, but I had it aligned when I worked at Sears auto and it was out several degrees on both front tires, camber, caster and toe... If nothing else you can just find a really cheap one somewhere, but if it's really cheap, like $35 or under it's probably just a "toe and go" but still better than nothing

            my $.02

Knocking sound is you need to tighten the top shock nut more, impact gun so it is nice and tight, and both sides showing the same amount of threads. I would def. get a alignment it will save your tires, I ate up 2 front tires in 3 months because i didn't get one when I first swapped my springs along time ago inside of the tires went down to the metal, had to pay $350 for front tires when I could of paid $30 for a alignment. Now I have Firestones lifetime warranty on alignments, already had 3 so I already got my moneys worth, paid $135 for it, regular price just for 1 was $70 so I said F' it , borrow the money and just do it. Bad for them since I have adj. ride height QA-1's up front and plan on getting rear ones.LOL
