honestly I had a slight problem with this too after I got my CAT replaced... I put a floor jack under the car, and jacked the exhaust up a little bit farther then I wanted(VERY SLOWLY), Even started to move the car a little. Then I let it down and never had a problem since.
..BUT, its a slim chance in my opinion, but figure I woudl warn you, you do put some stress and pressure on the exhasut manifold bolts, when you jack jsut the exhaust up. It is a possiblity you might snap one.

i took mine off and noticed no difference. maybe in 10 years when only 3 wheels touch the ground at once i will be singing a different tune, but it's working okay for now.
some people will say the engineers put it there for a reason and they did, but they also put little plastic caps on the lugs and rivet **** together so it will rattle and you will have no way to fix it.
