Weird, Me and a friend test drove an Audi TT, and the salesman, (yes I was in the "backseat" if you do so dare to call it that) said that cars run better in the rain.

Me and him thought he was crazy. We thought the humidity would kill the incoming air.

this time of year(at least here) a "cold front" is usually followed by a rain storm, even if its only 5-10* that might be enough to feel a SOTP difference, at least thats what I think of it.

well...I dont know about the OP....but mine was anytime it rained...noticed it even in the dead heat of summer to.

Idk...I kinda always had this crazy notion that in the rain everything was lubricated a little better, so therefore there was less resistance and I was faster....doubt it's true though....

Water doesn't compress. You have allot more water molecules in the cylinder during the rain, even if it's not liquid water. Making the motor think it has more compression. The water molecules also dampen detonation. Then add the lower temps.

so how could we take this and make it work for us during dry sunny days at the race track?

Water injection was a popular thing in the 80's with carbs. A very fine mist was sprayed into the air cleaner assembly when vacuum dropped below a preset point. It was worth a few HP, kept detonation down , helped with emissions and kept the cylinders very clean.

An old Holley water injection kit.

I thought those meth kits were only meant for F/I cars....would we actually benefit from installing meth on our N/A vehicles then?

                          Yes. It cools the intake.
