  • Proportioning Valve help

Okay, I'm getting ready to do my rear end swap. I have a 97 and am getting a rear out of a 95 Z28. I want to go ahead and order a proportioning valve incase I need it. I can't seem to find the part anywhere. I would just order a proportioning valve for a 95 Z28 correct?

I looked on a couple websites and one I just couldn't find anything for that and another said there was no such part for 95 z28. I haven't called a dealer yet, but am figuring that it will be expensive as hell if I get one from the dealer.

Last I checked, it should be the same part number.
At least for '97 it was.

Make sure you have the right number of channels for your ABS also.

What do you mean by your last statement? I am having a buddy of my stepdads do the swap. He's a mechanic. I guess he will know what you mean though. I was told to make sure I get that E brake cable off the z28. That was about the only thing I would need though.

        Propotioning valves are the same.

Make sure if your car doesn't have traction control, that the donor car doesn't either. I made the mistake of getting a rear (well, contemporary corvette sent me the worng part and I couldnt wait the extra downtime to return it) from a car with traction control, I have been antilock brake-less since then.

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
