Hey guys just had to put new lifters in my wifes 00 camaro.. fun fun. well the install went well but after driving the car to work for a day or so the check engin light came on and the code said knock sensor low input.. replaced the sensor light came back on ... Im thinkin its probaly a short in the wire or something because the engin is runnning great and the bank 2 sensor is keeping quiet.. any suggestions??
    thanks

    Re: knock sensor

probably a short or high electrical resistance. the knock sensor is made of pezeo electric crystals (however you spell that) it takes a constant voltage to excite the crystals to let them read counts of knock. if voltage input was low that could do it. try to find out where the signl wire comes from and spec for reference voltage then just check it. if that checks out check for how much resistance is on the output wire going to the pcm or ignition control module which ever yours feeds to. sounds more complicated than it really is.

      Re: knock sensor

hopefully u got the right sensor, siince they run off certain frequencies. Just like when I had my 240, I was able to use a bmw knock sensor, because the sensor was close enough, but I wans't able to use a mazda sensor (which also had the same connection)

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
