Is my motor going or what?!?
PLEASE HELP!! This is loud and annoying....

An even quicker fix until you can do the one above:

Turn on your headlights and pull the motor fuse (I had to do it for 3 days till I could replace the motor).

its definately the gear. I had this problem recently, it took maybe 2 hours at the most to fix with the link on the first reply. Thats excluding the 8 hours atleast to let epoxy set. Im not that mechanical and it was ez for me. Save yourself some money and buy the brass gear.

You can also do the 180 degree flip instead of buying the gear but it will just go bad again.

100% it's the gear. I had the same problem, but I did the quick fix. Have not had this problem since.

Anything we can do to make the headlight sound quieter when going down? I think it's a bit loud. Whenever I have someone in the car and the lights pop down their always saying "what was that, that didn't sound good"

alright... tried the quick fix...didn't work at all
so i put the brass gears in, quite simple, except for getting some of the screws... and i lost one around my headlight...dammit now its prolly gonna rattle what else is new

anyways... it took maybe 1hr combined teardown/install... (plus 4+ that i let the epoxy set) works like new... b-e-a-u-tiful

btw i bought the gears off ebay for about $10 cheaper than bfranker... and it included the gears silicone grease and expoxy and detailed instructions
