  • Quick Question

Hey guys, I am somewhat of an amateur when it comes to working on my car, today I actually did my first oil change-I noticed my coolant was low so I picked up some at autozone when i got my oil. When I was putting my 50/50 mix in, one of my neighbors (a hot one) came up and started talking to me, which caused me to put too much in...it's about 5 (bars?) above full hot- is this a huge issue?

I heard overfilling coolant will cause havoc to your engine, any truth to this? should I be concerned? I have already replaced this engine once due to an blown head gasket because of an idiot mechanic overfilling the fluids, which is why i do everything myself now (and I did the same thing, how embarrasing is that?).

Any quick response would be apreciated, I have to run some errands today but I don't want to drive it until I know for sure. Thanks guys-and girls ;)

well it probably wont hurt your engine. But if u are gunna worry about it then i would just get alittle out any clean way you can. Mabey draiing some from the radiator and sticky a suction thing in threw the resivoir or radiaotr cap to suck some back up. just some thoughts.

Thanks for the ideas Kronik - I may take some out.

I had another question - I wasn't sure what the mechanic used last, So I got the Peak which says it "mixes with any color antifreeze"

Are these products that say they mix with any color reliable? It was green when it went in.

You will have no trouble with that coolant, its what they are designed for.
