• How about this...

I don't know squat about this subject so it might sound crazy. But I wonder how difficult it would be to make something in the engine to mock the sound of 2 more cylinders?Just a thought.

something like a cut-out put on backwards with a megaphone blaring a v-8 exhaust clip into your pipes?
Not a worht-while persuit IMHO.

Jsut get a really good sound system... and play v8 sound clips...

also get one of those turbo sounding things for your exhaust and a BOV speaker... then you will be a turbo v8

Seriously though, there is no point trying to sound like you have something you don't have.

You can try to get a sound as close to a V8 as you can via your exhaust, but just have pride in what you drive.

People who mod their cars to resemble something they're not are called ricers.

I have a 3.4 with a hollowed cat, glass pack, and a 3" tip that sounds pretty darn close to a v8. Especially at idle.

Yea exactly, don't be ashamed that you drive a v6, our cars our actually pretty powerful for our class. And rancid, i don't completely agree with your definition of a ricer, in my book they are called posers, there are a lot of ricers that aren't trying to pose as something they are not out there.

i am proud as hell to drive a 6 personally. I love the fact i can pull up to "fast" cars and usually give em a good run for their money (GT Mustang's)...

When i get my NO2 on im gonna get me a big ol' camarov6.com window sticker to prove my 6 > ur 8

be proud of wat u drive, it is a damn nice car.

I'm not ashamed to have a 6. I think these are some of the best cars out there. But if it's possible to make my machine sound exactly like an 8, then I'm going to do it. I know many of us have tried and we have many threads devoted to this subject. We say we can't until one day someone discovers something to make it possible. But I still love my 6.

I said something to simulate 8 cylinders. If I have 8 then I'm not simulating anything. I also said "mock the SOUND of 2 more cylinders". I don't care about speed as I don't like to race, but I do want the most convincing sound possible.

Get a hi performance dual outlet muffler,ie. flowmaster, borla, etc.I've got a rhino muffler(dual outlet)w/Z28 tips on my '98 3.8 Camaro,& its sounds pretty close& a tad louder than my stock mufflered '03 Corvette!Especially at idle reving it, sounds better than my Cor.

putting a cam could also enhance the v8 rumble. i agree with everyone else... wonderful cars for having a v-6 powerplant.

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
