a few weeks ago i noticed that when slowing my speedometer would stop and then drop to the correct speed. this stopped on its own and i gave it no more thought. this past weekend i took a road trip to upstate new york and it started again, this time on acceleration and deceleration. it got so bad that i would slow down and be doing 55-60 ish and the neddle would be stuck on 70-75 ish. this is a guage cluster from a newer Z28, is it time to get another one, or is there anything I can do? the guage cluster had 32,000 miles on the clock when i got it, and has been working fine for about 2 years now.

Mine did that breifly before my alternator died. But wht you're describing seems to be taking place over a longer period of time and you have bigger fluctuations than my speedo.

Mine will randomly drop down to the bottom, and then go right back up all in a matter of a second.

It doesn't do it too often, but it's still kinda weird / annoying.

mine is always slow by about 4 or 5, but only for 1 sec or 2. Speed up and hit cruise, you'll see the needle drop and stay at a lower speed.

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
