  • Manual Fan switches....

Do they come on automatically or do they have to be turned on manually?

Say if I wanted to go out for a drive, do I have to turn on the switch or will it come on automatically?

they will still come on automatically, when you reach the temp that they turn on at.

manual fan switches, are an override to the factory controls, so they stock settings will work normal.

BUT you have the option of turning them on manually when you need them.

I love the one i built for my car, plug and play, no ses lights. And it is not the slp version.

maybe its time for a rewire this spring, i can turn my fans on withthe switch/ high and low,

but they do not turn on automatically (as in when the engine temp reaches the stock temp)..

              BUT... and i mean BUT...

if i have my defroster on, the fans work like normal... turning off at 40mph..

the fans will always run with the defroster on, or the AC on, as the defroster runs the AC compressor, therefore, the fans are kicked on.

... unless you cut the fan wire, they should work fine, the correct way is to splice into it, keeping the computer connection intact, and allowing a manual override.

But the proper method (imho) is to get 2 weatherpack connectors, and build a plug in harness, with needed electronics, to prevent the ses lights. (this is how i did mine, copy of the slp version)
