  • rough idle/power loss

Well this is a strange situation but here it goes. I have been experiencing a rough idle for a while now but lately its been alot worse(usually after it is warmed up).
If I am sitting in traffic it idles pretty rough(no surging), and if I turn the AC on it gets even rougher. When I accelerate their is little power. It really feels like its starving for fuel or air. I replaced the plug wires and fixed a leak at my cat and y pipe and ran some seafoam through it and it ran good for a while then it has gone down hill.
I think I was only running on like 4 or 5 cylinders, could this cause me to run rich and mess up 02's, cat and other various sensors that are playing with my air/fuel? By the way Im not getting a SES light either, Kinda wish I would so I could figure this SHIZNIT out.
    Thanks,
    Shane

If you were running on less than your 6 cylinders you would be vibrating pretty bad and the harder u accelerate the less it will shake. You would also have to apply more gas for the manual to really get going. Take it up to Autozone/Advanced and get them to run the computer on it to see what codes it is throwing and that will point u in the right direction!

hmmm..i am getting a whine? my lights dim, I know my power steering pump is leaking but that sounds different.
I dont know how that will lead to a power loss though?

could also be your ignition control modules; but i'm almost positive that would throw a code. wouldn't hurt to check, though.

Most common cause of rough idle is a vacum leak somewhere. Id check all my vacum lines if I were you to rule that out first.
