  • RPO codes

I was looking through the codes and there were a few I couldn't find, I was curious if anyone else might know what they refer to.

The list of codes are as follows:
    T78
    6GL
    7GL
    8TB
    9TB

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Re: RPO codes

I couldnt find anything on the first couple, but 8TB and 9TB are the left and right rear springs.

          Re: RPO codes

I appreciate the answers, in a great timed fashion as well. :)

Now I'm curious as to the T78 - Headlamp control- Delete

Wouldn't delete mean that they removed it? Or, what could this mean?

            Re: RPO codes

maybe they removed the auto on/off feature? or what about the foglights, do you have a switch for them?

              Re: RPO codes

No, but my car is a 97' 3.8L it didn't come with fog lights :(

I think the only upgrade my car has is an equalizer on the cd player. Though, that deck sucked and I replaced it the first day I owned the car with a new JVC deck and a nice big Pioneer EQ.

                Re: RPO codes

Guessing it's a bird then, cuz the Camaro's came with fogs. I think it's the auto on/off thing. Give it a try one night, see if your lights automatically come on (put it into gear, and all. The lights on manuals don't come on until the e-brake is all the way down. Being a bird, yours is most likely an auto, and I'm not entirely sure when their lights come on, but put it into drive and see if they do).

                  Re: RPO codes

Nope it's a manual. And they never pop up on their own :( I guess that's because there isn't anything controlling the acquator motor to raise the lights automatically without flipping the knob. I think I have the most primitive '97 bird anywhere. Nothing is auto on my car :P , manual windows, manual locks, manual shifting and manual driving if you can believe that one. I need a computer program to drive for me so that I may sleep while going somewhere.

                      Re: RPO codes

I wouldn't really worry about codes that you have no idea what they are. Any codes that are important you can pretty much see the option physically already other than gears

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
