I was at a car auction the other day and was checking out the Camaro's just to see what they were going for. I looked at a 2002 V6 completely stock. I noticed that they have an airbox type thing that almost looks like the SLP air box used on the SS's, but its not. I later found out that it is on the V6's from 98 to 2002. I thought it was some type of airbox, but the 93-97 V6's don't have it, but yet the 95-97 3.8's and the 98-02 V6's are all rated at 200HP, so I know it is not a CAI or something from the factory. What is it, and why is it on the 98-02's and not the 93-97's. I found a pic here in which I circled what I am talking about, but the pic is being hosted on a free account so after so many transfers it will shut down for an hour. Sorry if that inconviencies anyone.

98-2002 have taller hoods. The intake was moved to the front for easier access and also for the SS/WS6 models' hoods.

it's just an airbox. 98 was a weird year because it still had the angled throttle body from pre-97. in stock form, the airbox is also quieter.

I didn't watch all the Camaro's go through the lines. I was mostly at the SUV lines cause I went with my dad cause he was looking for a car. But the ones I did see were:

          2002 Maroon Convertible (3.8 with 20,000 miles) $14,700

          1998 Pewter Coupe (no T-Tops, 54,000 miles) $9,500

1993 Z-28, Black, T-Tops, might of had some little mods, 89,000 miles, ok shape, $6,000
          1996 Polo Green Metallic Camaro:<br />SLP CAI, Carsound/Magnaflow 3\" in/out cat, Flowmaster 2.5\" cat-back... sounds great
