Ac delcos form autozone... I alsot use XX52 (forgot the exact letters, so I put XX)

its oversized and car takes more oil. More filter, more room to filter, also helps use up that last .5, so its almost a complete 5 quart oil change instead of 4.5q

the stock size is xx47 though.

Theres no way in hell, that an extra inch longer filter will hold half a quart. I used the 47s and used the full 5 quarts. Maybe a little over full, but at 3000 miles of leaking, and engine oil burning, it would always be perfect on full. Also, the 52 filter is too long, you hit a hard bump, that babys taking damage, and you maybe walkin.

I didn't say it takes a full half a quart, I said it uses more, and is closer to the .5 quart.

and I can gurantee that it won't hit, if you hit a hard bump. Believe me, my car has been through a million situations and never damaged it...

I have used only 4 frams with the sure grip, in each case the shur grip got oil on it and started pealing off making a mess on my hands.

It is all a matter of opinion. I have used Fram filters for the last 15 years and I have never lost an engine. So people hate them, I like them.
