Got some codes... and some questions.

P1652

P0420 is for my hi-flow cat, i bought a o2 sim ( did not work )

the other codes, i looked up in the code thread..

the autozoners told me Manufacturer Control Auxilary Inputs & Outputs
(1651 & 1652)

The thread says that P1652, is Vehicle speed sensor (vss) output.

what do i do to fix that ?
What does it affect...

I have the Factory Service Manual from 1998 model year...

for the 3,8L engine it says: DTC 1651 Fan 1 Relay Control Circuit
and DTC 1652 Fan 2 Relay Control Circuit

Condition for setting this DTC's

-The ignition is on

-An improper voltage level has been detected on the output circuit which controls the low (high) speed fans

-The above conditions present for at least 30 seconds

check the terminals and connections at the PCM

try to outsmart your ECU with a resistor from the same value like the van relays...... i think it can help....

do you use only your fan switch or in additional to the ECU?

I mainly use my fan in traffic, my car loves to jump up to 220 and with the fan switch you can keep it under 200

When the fan switch is off. The fan's operate normally, with the ECU.

all the switch does, is complete's the circuit ground.

it's really pretty simple. I make them myself, and made a "how-to" write up in my cardomain if your interested.

Your "how to do" are very informative :tup:

I see a little problem with your manual fan switch!
If you switch it by hand, you ground the relays and the ECU is irritated because it sees the gound too....
maybe you must disconnect the connections from the relays to the ECU during manual mode! You need a toggle switch to do this..... the middle contact to the relays ground, one to the ECU the other to battery ground.

Okay, this works only for one fan with a simple toggle switch....

new problem: if temp goes high enough during manual mode and the ECU tries to start the fan itself you see another error code, because the ECU sees an open circuit....
A resistor from the same value like the relay solves this problem, the ECU sees his "relay".....
