• how do I replace the oil pan?

My brother bottomed out the bird and I have to replace the oil pan so I have a beater while my talon is in the shop getting painted.

Any idea? easyest way I can see is to take off one of the motor mounts, put it in gear and jack the engine up a few inches using some wood under thecrank pully. pull the oil pan out slap the new one in and bolt it back up. if any one has any better ideas Please tell me. I dont want to pull the engine to have to do this.

i dont know if i would jack it up by the crank pully. dont know how the physics work there, but motor weight on crank pully might = slightly bent crank?

id use a lift to pick the motor up like 3 inches or so. undo the trans mount, the motor mounts, and just lift it up a little bit.

raising up crank pulley w/jack is old school, but still . Just raise enough to put wood blocks under mounts to give you clearence.
