  • For those that have changed a starter???

How hard was it, and did you have to unbolt the exhaust to drop it?

    Thanks

I have done starters on 3.4s and 3.8s. It isn't hard at all. There are two big bolts holding it on (I think they are 15mm), and there are 2 wires connected to the solenoid.

Nothing has to be moved to get it out, except the heat shield, which is easy to remove.

Thanks for such a fast response. I'll be changing mine out in the morning, and I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't getting in over my head.

I just had to pull the 3.4 starter off to get the 4L60E in. You don't have to mess w/the heat sheild on the 3.4, 3 wires total, 1 big from batt, one more from wire harness to it, and then the small wire on separate stud.
