Has anyone here driven both a 4th gen with the 16.8:1 steering ratio and the 14.4:1 steering ratio. 16.8:1 comes on base Firebirds (which I have now) and it is freaking horrible, I sometimes find myself backing up making U-turns. I assume all TAs Z28s Y87s whatever come with the 14.4:1 ratio, is this a major improvement? I mean are there anytimes where this has gotten to you because the 16.8:1 on mine really pisses me off. I miss the 12.1:1 on my 82...

and hit something that tore out the lower part of the right fender.
I am going to use some glue to put some on the tear and then put
it back.
You wonder what the idiots at GM were thinking, putting in such
an horrible ratio in my 2000 Camaro. This is why I think the new
Camaro will be a failure. I bet they will put the specs from the
Chevy sedan into the Camaro....watch and see.Phil
